Conclusion - A Heroes’ Homecoming

Pictured: How to Win at Everything co-authors Daniel Kibblesmith and Sam Weiner sign copies for Barbara’s Books at Chicago’s O’Hare Airport.

Tired, bloodied, and handsome, but victorious as always, the How to Win co-authors had one more mission before returning home to Chicago, “The City That Only Sleeps Because It Chooses To Do So.”

Through a twist of social media fate, we were contacted by the manager of the Barbara’s Books location in O’Hare airport and invited to stop by upon our return to Chicago to sign EVERY COPY available for purchase in the airport, thus increasing their net worth by roughly the cost of fifteen new airplanes. Not bad!

With chapters on air travel, wilderness survival, and moving, How to Win at Everything is the perfect plane read to prepare you for whatever lies ahead, whether it’s a triumphant two-city east coast book tour or just a quick afternoon plane ride to clear your head.

Thanks for joining us on our journey, and let us know if the next city we visit should be yours.

Pt. III - WAX WINNERS

Pictured: How to Win at Everything co-author Daniel Kibblesmith visits Madame Tussaud’s Wax Museum in Times Square. (From the top, Spider-Man, Robin Williams, Taylor Swift, President Abraham Lincoln, The Heroes of 9/11, & President George W. Bush)

Having triumphantly imparted their wisdom upon a city in desperate need of Type-A personalities, How to Win co-author Daniel Kibblesmith went to pay his respects to the winners of yesteryear at Madame Tussauds, posing appropriately with some of our culture’s greatest heroes in anticipation of, obviously, one day joining them.

Thanks to good friend Ben Summers for capturing the experience on black-and-white film, the true medium of celebrity immortality.

Not sure if New York City has any prominent magazines, but if they do, surely they will appreciate this single collage documenting one of the most epic nights in How to Win at Everything history, and therefore regular history.

Pt. II - LOST IN NEW YORK

Pictured: The authors at UCB East along with special guests Conner O’Malley (Late Night With Seth Meyers), Vanessa Bayer (SNL), Aidy Bryant (SNL), and New York fans, family, and friends.

Finally, some ambitious people arrive in New York, specifically the How to Win authors, who were rudely interrupted on stage by a disgusting vagrant. Surely no book could transform his life—or could it?

There was also a very presentation from Danetta Bryer, on why Stone Cold Steve Austin is her favorite winner of all time, and a visit from master storyteller Aidy Bryant with an indelible mnemonic that helped us memorize the entire periodic table in order.

Thank you again to our guests, everyone at UCB East, and all who were able to attend in person or in spirit (less impressive).

The How To Win authors could not have felt more at home in Baltimore, accurately nicknamed “Charm City” for the many tokens and reliquaries that you must carry on your person at all times to protect yourself from the ghosts of our Founding Fathers.

Thanks to our venue The Crown for your hospitality, and openers and guests Alan Resnick, Dale Beran, Erin Gleeson, and Ben O’Brien, pictured above teaching our audience how to use meditation to become almost as great as he is.
